GENERAL TERMS FOR CONSIGNMENT SALES IN OUR STORES

At Eftir, our vision is to give gently used, high-quality clothing a new home. We do not accept fast fashion or ultra-fast fashion items from brands such as Temu, Wish, Shein, or other imported clothing. Eftir seeks high-quality items made from good materials with long lifespans.
These are Eftir’s general terms for submitting items for consignment sales. Before submitting items to Eftir, you must agree to these general terms.

CONSIGNMENT SALES
Eftir sells items on consignment. This means that the sales price is agreed upon with Eftir. All items are sold on your behalf. Eftir reserves the right to decline items that do not fit our concept or the current season.

You agree that we may set and, if necessary, adjust the price of the items to what we deem appropriate. This is done to ensure the item sells as quickly as possible at the best price.

Our sales period is 30 days. During the sales period, it is not possible to retrieve submitted items. After the sales period, you will have seven (7) days to collect unsold items. You are responsible for retrieving your items on time. If an item remains unsold and uncollected seven (7) days after the sales period, ownership of the item will be transferred to Eftir, allowing us to freely dispose of it.

The consignment customer retains ownership of the submitted item until Eftir sells it to a customer or decides to purchase the item from the consignment customer. The consignment customer’s sales commission remains the same regardless of whether the item is purchased by a customer or by Eftir.

BECOMING A CONSIGNMENT CUSTOMER
To become a consignment customer, you must confirm that you meet the following requirements:

Be at least 18 years old.

Have a Norwegian personal identification number.

Have a Norwegian bank account in your own name, required for the payment of the sales commission.

Provide accurate contact information.

Be the legal owner of the items submitted to Eftir and have the right to submit them for sale.

Ensure that the items meet our quality criteria (read more about quality criteria in the Quality Criteria section).

Continuously update your contact information to ensure accuracy and that you can receive communications from Eftir.

PAYMENT OF SALES COMMISSION
The sales commission is registered in your customer account and updated in "My Page." The balance can be used for purchases at Eftir or paid out to the consignment customer.

Payment will be made to the account you registered with Eftir.
Five days after the end of the month, we will transfer the earnings to your account.

QUALITY CRITERIA FOR SUBMITTED ITEMS
Eftir accepts items that fit within our concept and that we believe can be sold during the sales period (season). When determining which items to accept, we evaluate the following:

We accept clothing, shoes, and accessories of good quality.

We only accept clothing that matches the current season at the time of submission.

Items must be freshly cleaned, intact, and free of pests such as moths. They must also be in good condition.

Shoes must be cleaned before submission.

We do not accept fast fashion, ultra-fast fashion, counterfeit items, or any products that infringe on third-party trademarks or other intellectual property rights. If the consignment customer submits an item from an exclusive brand, we may require proof of authenticity, such as a receipt or bank statement.

We check items against these criteria upon submission. If it turns out after acceptance that an item does not meet the quality criteria, we will contact the consignment customer to inform them of the discrepancy. The consignment customer can then choose to retrieve the item or allow Eftir to donate it to charity. If the consignment customer wishes to retrieve the item, they must do so within seven (7) days; otherwise, ownership of the item will be transferred to Eftir.

LIABILITY
The customer is responsible for and shall compensate Eftir for any damage or costs incurred due to the customer breaching the agreement.

Eftir is not liable for any damages or inconveniences caused:

By circumstances outlined in the terms for which we are not responsible.

By the customer failing to meet their obligations under the terms.

To the customer’s property caused by items purchased from us, such as pests transferred from an item to the customer’s property.

Eftir is not responsible for stolen, lost, or damaged items. We are also not liable for fire or water damage to items in our stores. In the event of accidents, fire, water damage, or theft due to a break-in, your home insurance may cover the loss, but this must be clarified with your insurance provider. We encourage all sellers to ensure adequate insurance coverage for their items.

It is important to note that purchases from Eftir’s stores cannot be exchanged or refunded. However, situations may arise where customers complain about hidden defects or issues that need to be addressed.
